Collection: Nobue Ibaraki

Nobue Ibaraki's is a Japanese ceramic maker. She studied fashion design at Bunka Fashion College and Ceramic Design at Tajimi Pottery Design And Technical Center. As a result of Ibaraki's preference to abandon the potter’s wheel and instead shape her clay completely by hand, no two of her works are alike. Reflecting inspiration drawn from both ancient Persian and Greek art and her background in Japanese fashion, Her creations merge the materiality of the old world with contemporary Japanese concepts. Using untraditional glazes and clay from Tajimi, near Kyushu volcan, Ibaraki’s hand-built earthenware pieces are imperfect, textured and raw finished, like relics of different times.
