Meet Frank: the jacket with a secret

Small batch production sounds chic, but in reality it comes with one big headache: fabrics. The selection is tiny, exclusivity is impossible, and sometimes you find yourself twinning with another designer’s stripes or checks. Not fun.
Case in point: more than a year ago, I bought two beautiful rolls of Japanese floral fabric.
The plan? Summer tops and camisoles. The reality? Just as the cutter’s knife was about to touch the fabric, a customer strolled into the boutique wearing a blouse made of that exact print. Cue dramatic pause.

So, instead of starring in the spotlight, that gorgeous floral was given a new role: a hidden star, lining the inside of a jacket.
Enter Frank our new jacket in black or brown, with a secret garden blooming inside. Finished with corozo nut buttons and hand embroidered buttonholes, because if we’re going to improvise, we’re going to do it properly.
